Biomaterials for orthopedic applications and techniques to improve corrosion resistance and mechanical properties for magnesium alloy: a review

چکیده
Abstract The present study aims to collect data, compare results and assess techniques used for improving corrosion resistance mechanical properties of biodegradable Mg alloys fixation elements orthopedic applications. A general description biomaterials implants is performed, including non-bioabsorbable materials. Different methods reducing the rate in are researched, efficiencies assessed. After evaluating different techniques, surface modification found be most promising technique reduce with an efficiency 85%. Regarding alloying agents, Zn considered as best candidate improve response biocompatibility Mg.
